Minutes of the June 12, 2023 Town of Eau Galle Board Meeting

*Minutes are unofficial until approved by the Town Board*

The regular monthly meeting was called to order by Town Board Chairman Lund at 7:00 PM at
the town hall.

Chairman Lund indicated that the notice of the meeting was posted as required by statutes and noted no additional items were added since the June Agenda was posted at the Town Hall and on the official Town website.

The Town Board members present were Kevin Larson, Amy Shafer, Stephanie Supri, and Jim Lund.

The agenda was approved as presented on a motion by Amy Shafer second by Kevin Larson, motion carried.

Minutes of the May 8, 2023 Town Board Meeting were approved on a motion by Kevin Larson second by Amy Shafer, motion carried.

Treasurer’s report, and bills were reviewed. Motion by Amy Shafer second by Kevin Larson to approve the bills as presented, motion carried.

Clerk reviewed correspondence and emails.

Quickbooks 2020 expired and the 2023 update will be reviewed and upgraded by Stephanie and Amy.

Justin Murtha of Murtha Sanitation requested a variance of the Driveway Ordinance in Section 7. Murtha Sanitation is wanting to add a third driveway to the East off of 47th Avenue on the South side of 47th Avenue. Motion by Kevin Larson second by Amy Shafer to approve the variance as long as it measures out to be 35 feet from the neighboring property, motion carried.

Town board discussed the adoption of a contract with Dedicated Animal Control Service and Companion Animal Control. Chairman Lund stated that he would be fine with continuing animal/dog control within the town for the time being.

Town board discussed the renewal of the contract with Why the Fuss? Technical Solutions. The board would like to see the .org domain be dropped and discontinue use. Motion by Amy Shafer second by Kevin Larson, motion carried.

Road Work:

  • 60th Avenue was milled.
  • 20th Avenue was widened.
  • No seal coating or blacktopping has been done yet on town roads.

Chairman’s Report:

Chairman Lund will be in contact with the county to start ditch mowing.

Road renaming is a strong possibility with the county meeting in August to vote with the full county board. The Town Board recommends a letter be sent to the residents in the Town of Eau Galle that live on the named roads updating them with this information and the contact information if residents have questions or concerns.

Chairman Lund recommended that the ARPA funds be used for the Town of Eau Galles portion of the 20th Avenue project.
