Minutes of 05-14-2012 Eau Galle Board

Minutes are unofficial until approved by Town Board

The regular monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman Lund at 7:00 P.M. at the Town Hall.

Chairman Lund indicated that notice of the meeting was posted as required by Statutes.

Town Board members present were David North, Dennis Duckworth, Jim Lund and William Peavey.

The agenda was approved as presented on a motion by Dennis Duckworth second by David North, motion carried.

Minutes of the April 9, 2012 Board meeting were approved as corrected on a motion by David North second by Dennis Duckworth, motion carried

Bills for the month were reviewed. Motion by David North second by Dennis Duckworth to approve bills as presented with additional checks, motion carried.

Clerk reviewed correspondence.

Chairman Lund reviewed information he had gathered from WTA on sharing the Brookville Cemetery Records. Motion by David North second by Jim Lund to allow public review of cemetery records at the Town Hall and to post a summary of records on the Web Site, motion carried

Reviewed Insurance coverage with Nick Jenkins of Rural Insurance, questions were raised on coverage of vote machines and deductable. To revisit next month with updated quotes available.

Road work 2012;

  • Chairman Lund reviewed 2012 road work
  • 3 soft spots fixed on 250 th
  • Grind/Mill next week
  • Wait to pave till August
  • Potholes fixed on 55 th

Discussed Nuisance Ordinance, motion by Dennis Duckworth second by David North to hold public hearing on June 11th at 6:45 P.M.
To amend section 7, a, 1 Penalty
From

  • Any person who shall violate any provision of this ordinance code shall, upon conviction thereof, forfeit not less than Ten and No/100’s ($10.00) dollars nor more than Thirty and No/100’s (30.00) dollars, together with the costs of prosecution and in default of payment of such forfeiture and cost of prosecution shall be imprisoned in the County of St. Croix Jail until said forfeiture and costs are paid, but not exceeding six (6) months. Each day a violation exists or continues shall constitute a separate offense.

To;

Each day a violation exists or continues shall constitute a separate offense.

Motion carried.

Motion by David North to allow St. Croix Trail Riders ATV Club to establish an ATV route on 250th St. from Pierce County Line North to 50th Ave., East on 50th Ave to Town of Cady. With the following conditions:

  1. No cost to taxpayers
  2. The agreement may be revoked or modified at any time.
  3. This would be for a 1 year trial period with a sunset provision.(a vote would be needed to continue the agreement, it would expire if there was no vote)
  4. Riders, ages 12 through 16 Must be with a parent or guardian
  5. Speed limit is 35 MPH
  6. Route open from May 1 to October 30th
  7. ATV Club to post notices and signs along route indicating open and close dates, speed limit, and restriction that 12 -16 year olds must be with parent or guardian.
  8. ATV’s must stay on the right hand edge of the traveled portion of the roadway
  9. Club to provide ATV contact information to residence along route so ATV’ers can deal with issues.

Chairman Lund asked 3 times for a second, there was none so motion failed for lack of a second.

  • Concerns raised of cars parking where Wildwood Trail and Town Roads intersect

Next meeting 06-11–2012 at 7:00 P.M., with Board of Review at noon and public hearing at 6:45
