Minutes of the May 12, 2025 Town of Eau Galle Board Meeting
*Minutes are unofficial until approved by the Town Board*
The regular monthly meeting was called to order by Town Board Chairman Lund at 7:01 PM at the town hall.
Chairman Lund indicated that the notice of the meeting was posted as required by statutes and noted no additional items were added since the May Agenda was posted at the Town Hall and on the official Town website.
The Town Board members present were Ryan Anez, Amy Shafer, Stephanie Supri, and Jim Lund.
The agenda was approved as presented on a motion by Amy Shafer second by Ryan Anez, motion carried.
The minutes of the April 14, 2025 Town Board Meeting were approved on a motion by Ryan Anez second by Amy Shafer, motion carried.
Treasurer’s report, and bills were reviewed and approved on a motion by Amy Shafer second by Ryan Anez, motion carried.
Building and driveway permits were reviewed.
Clerk reviewed correspondence and emails.
Alexandra Prasch presented the 2 lot CSM in Section 23 to the Town Board. Alexandra forwarded a new CSM that was not provided by Brandon King Surveying. Chairman Lund questioned the land access and will follow up with Alexandra to measure for a driveway. Motion by Amy Shafer to approve the CSM as long as Lot 1 has a sufficient spot for a future driveway second by Ryan Anez, motion carried.
Town Board reviewed the 2024 Audit from CLA.
Town Board discussed the Town Roads Parking Ordinance amongst themselves as well as town residents. Supervisor Shafer suggested the board take the ordinance off of future agendas, but keep a draft for future use if the need arises.
Road Work:
- Bridge on Pierce/St. Croix Road
- A town resident contacted Chairman Lund at the beginning of the month concerned about a box culvert that is near his driveway. The resident’s young son was playing on the bridge and fell off, hurting himself. The town resident would like to see the town do something about making the bridge safe. Chairman Lund had the county bid a chain link fence to go around the south side of the bridge. That bid came back at $4,000.00. Supervisor Anez suggested the town leave the bridge as is and contact the Towns Association to see if the town is liable for injuries.
- 30th Avenue project is projected to start in June.
- The board needs to decide on which roads will be sealcoated this year at the June monthly meeting.
- The county is out fixing potholes.
Chairman’s Report:
- Long range plan for Town Hall
- Chairman Lund requested that the board members consider a 5 year plan for the Town Hall building to discuss at the next meeting.
- The solar field project started on 5/12/2025 with the end date being the end of October.
- St. Croix County has changed its zoning ordinance. Now residents must present to the town first and then the county will review the application.
- May 20, 2025 from Noon-6pm at the St. Croix County Highway Department is a free disposal event for appliances.
- June 10, 2025 from 2-6pm is a free tire collection event at the St. Croix County Highway Department
