Minutes of the July 14, 2025 Town of Eau Galle Board Meeting

The regular monthly meeting was called to order by Town Board Chairman Lund at 7:00 PM at the town hall.

Chairman Lund indicated that the notice of the meeting was posted as required by statutes and noted no additional items were added since the July Agenda was posted at the Town Hall and on the official Town website. 

The Town Board members present were Ryan Anez, Amy Shafer, Stephanie Supri, and Jim Lund. 

The agenda was approved as presented on a motion by Amy Shafer second by Ryan Anez, motion carried.

The minutes of the June 9, 2025 Town Board Meeting were approved on a motion by Ryan Anez second by Amy Shafer, motion carried. 

Treasurer’s report, and bills were reviewed and approved on a motion by Amy Shafer second by Ryan Anez, motion carried.  

Building and driveway permits were reviewed.

Clerk reviewed correspondence and emails. 

Town Board discussed the hail damage that occurred on the Town Hall on June 19, 2025. The Town has a $1,000.00 deductible on the hall. Town Board recommended the adjuster come and take a look at the damage at the Hall. Clerk will contact insurance company.

Town Board discussed the 2026 Budget. Board recommended taking the full $175,000.00 amount for a loan to do brush cutting, road work, etc. 

Chairman Lund expressed concern over the number of trees hanging over town roads and the number of ash trees in the Town of Eau Galle. Town Board discussed how to handle the trees, landowners, and fees. Will continue discussion at August meeting.

Road Work:

  • 30th Avenue second lift completed. Shouldering to happen soon. 
  • 2180 20th Avenue installed pylons 1’ off road on driveway. Clerk will send letter to let homeowner know he is in violation of the Driveway Ordinance.

Chairman’s Report: 

  • July 24, 2025 at 6:30pm the Wisconsin Towns Association will hold their Unit Meeting at the Baldwin SCC Highway Department. 
  • A resident who violated building permit regulations wants to sell his property. All Croix to draft letter that states the property is not to be sold as a residence, but as a shed only. 
  • General Transportation Aids are going up 3%, $34 million budgeted for short bridges, $100 million for LRIP, and $150 million for ARIP.
  • July 9, 2025, the Amish community requested a meeting with the Towns of Baldwin, Cady, Eau Galle, and Springfield along with St. Croix County Community Development. Jim, Bill and Steph attended the meeting. The county is requesting the Amish use a privy and provided three approved plans. The Towns would like the Amish to apply for and abide by building permits. 
  • Supervisor Anez received two quotes for Hall door replacement. $4,482.00 and $3,200. Will make a decision after the insurance company lets us know how to proceed with storm damage. 

Public Comment/Open Forum:

Supervisor Shafer expressed concern over the growing number of wild parsnips. Spraying will happen next spring.

The next regular monthly Board Meeting will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025 at 7pm at the Town Hall.
