Minutes of 01-14-2013 Eau Galle Board
Minutes are unofficial until approved by Town Board
The regular monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman Lund at 7:00 P.M. at the Town Hall.
Chairman Lund indicated that notice of the meeting was posted as required by Statutes.
Town Board members present were David North, Dennis Duckworth, Jim Lund and William Peavey.
The agenda was approved as presented on a motion by David North second by Dennis Duckworth, motion carried.
Minutes of the December 10, 2012 Board Meeting were approved on a motion by David North second by Dennis Duckworth, motion carried
Bills for the month were reviewed. Motion by David North second by Dennis Duckworth to approve bills as presented, motion carried.
Chairman Lund reviewed concerns raised at previous meeting with horses and buggies on Town roads. Chairman Lund has contacted State Department of Agriculture and St. Croix County Health Department and there are no health concerns from horse manure. Safety issues for visibility after dark was discussed and members of the Amish community said they were adding reflective tape on the front of buggies and would consider adding it to the bridles. Members of the Amish community said that lowering the speed limit does not help, they try to have a responsible person at the reins and will try to use a less aggressive horse shoe in the summer. Members of the Amish community wanted to thank the Town Board for erecting the horse and buggy warning signs. The consensus of the Board was to take a wait and see approach if any issues develop.
Clerk reviewed correspondence.
Discussed CSM for Jim Risselman in section 13. Issue of Town possibly owning a half acre strip in proposed easement was presented. Motion by David North second by Jim Lund to table until next month meeting to get clarification on ownership, motion carried.
Reviewed audit proposal for 2012 from Curt Forse CPA. Motion by Dennis Duckworth second by David North to accept audit proposal for 2012 for $2,800.00, motion carried.
Chairman Lund reviewed 2013 road work;
- Spray ditches East of BB
- 2 written request not to spray property
Chairman Lund indicated that no one had responded to the add requesting someone to take over Maintenance of web site. Clerk to put add in again and also contact school district to see if a student would be interested.
Chairman’s report;
- Na Vang contacted about livestock running at large
- Property owner at 2627 50th with fence in ROW contacted
- Needs fence for balance and support for getting mail
- Keeps garbage containers from blowing in ditch
- Light duty fence
- Clerk to send letter requesting waver of liability for Town.
- WTA county unit meeting this month
- WTA District meeting coming up
- Jim Lund to attend in Eau Claire
